El Ministerio de la Presidencia, Relaciones con las Cortes y Memoria Democrática, en colaboración con el Ministerio de Cultura y Deporte, organiza esta Conferencia Internacional que se llevará a cabo en el Museo Lázaro Galdiano en Madrid del 4 al 6 de octubre de 2023.
La conferencia se centrará en la importancia de la memoria democrática en Europa desde el final de los conflictos bélicos que asolaron el continente durante el siglo XX, destacando su papel fundamental para evitar el olvido y prevenir la repetición de eventos trágicos.
Este evento, que se celebra en el marco de la Presidencia española del Consejo de la Unión Europea, tiene como objetivo esencial destacar las iniciativas europeas relacionadas con la gestión del patrimonio cultural desde la perspectiva de la memoria, los derechos humanos y el compromiso con la "no repetición" como un imperativo ético en una sociedad europea democrática.
The Spanish Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Cortes, and Democratic Memory, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, is organizing this International Conference, which will take place at the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid from October 4th to 6th, 2023.
The conference will focus on the importance of democratic memory in Europe since the end of the conflicts that ravaged the continent during the 20th century, highlighting its fundamental role in preventing forgetfulness and the recurrence of tragic events.
This event, held within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, aims to emphasize European initiatives related to the management of cultural heritage from the perspective of memory, human rights, and the commitment to "non-repetition" as an ethical imperative in European democratic society.
